Nazdar, a screen and digital ink specialist, has created its own You Tube channel where it delivers a range of videos

The word of social media has changed the way people communicate with each other. It has also proved to be a valuable tool for companies to get their message out, whether it is through Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, podcasts or videos on YouTube, to name a few approaches. You Tube videos offer companies the opportunity to showcase their capabilities and deliver their message, and a few ink companies are seeing the benefits. For example, Shawnee, KS-based Nazdar, a screen and digital ink specialist, has created its own You Tube channel where it delivers a range of videos. Jay Tharp, marketing communications director for Nazdar, said that Nazdar began posting technical videos to our YouTube channel, NazdarInks, early last year. Most recently, Nazdar released a new corporate video that gives viewers a look inside the company. Among the areas that are emphasized are its R&D, testing and manufacturing facilities. “Our corporate video for the Nazdar Ink Technologies division gives a quick tour of our Shawnee, KS, USA facility and provides an overview of our products, the industry and our corporate culture,” Tharp said. “With very little promotion, the site has a growing viewership. Our previous videos were centered around color control best practices. These videos are used for customer and internal training.” Tharp said that the idea behind showcasing the company’s internal capabilities is to provide printers with more in-depth knowledge of what Nazdar offers. “Nazdar’s brand is well known after 90-plus years in the screen printing inks market segment, but there is room in the digital inkjet and international segments to improve printers’ understanding of what Nazdar produces,” Tharp said. “Our R&D, quality control and manufacturing capabilities make us state-of-the-art and we wanted people to see that.” The addition of its NazdarInks YouTube channel is another way that Nazdar can work with its customers to show its latest technology. “Nazdar has been an industry leader for 92 years,” said Richard Bowles, president of Nazdar Ink Technologies. “The success of our company has been due in large part to our ability to focus on our customers’ needs and stay abreast of technology.” There are plenty of topics for videos that can be offered by ink manufacturers. Tharp said that Nazdar is currently developing videos on its ink portfolio, and the compnay has plans to create more content. “We are working on videos that give more details on Nazdar products, including screen printing, digital inkjet, and narrow web/flexographic inks,” Tharp noted. “We also have plans to produce customer testimonial videos that demonstrate how Nazdar’s products and services improve printers’ production and profitability.” The new videos can be viewed on Nazdar’s website and its YouTube channel.
